About Shirodhara

Shirodhara is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy where warm oil is continuously poured over the forehead, specifically targeting the “third eye” area. This therapy is known for its calming and rejuvenating effects on the mind and body, and is commonly used to address conditions such as stress, anxiety, insomnia, and headaches.

Typically included in a comprehensive Ayurvedic treatment plan, Shirodhara is often combined with other therapies like herbal remedies, massage, and yoga to enhance its benefits and achieve optimal results.

Indulge in the Ultimate Relaxation: The Shirodhara Procedure

Here’s what you can expect during your Shirodhara session:

  1. Relaxation: Our skilled therapist will begin with a soothing oil massage of your scalp, neck, and shoulders to relieve muscle tension. Following this, warm oil will be poured continuously over your forehead for 30 minutes, helping you achieve a state of deep relaxation.

  2. Pouring of Oil: Using a special container known as a “dhara pot,” our therapist will pour the warm oil over your forehead in a steady, rhythmic stream. You’ll be encouraged to breathe deeply and release any stress or tension during this process.

  3. Completion: After the therapy, the therapist will gently wipe off the oil from your forehead and provide a final head and neck massage to conclude the treatment. You’ll leave Dr Gupta’s Holistic Wellness Center feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
